Bundling can be convenient and save you money. But Optimum doesn’t have TV-only plans. Without that pricing information, it’s tough to tell if the provider’s bundles are a bargain. But it’s not impossible.
We compared Optimum’s double-play and triple-play bundles to its competitors’ offerings (with cable and fiber internet, but not DSL). Guess what we learned? Very few providers in Optimum’s service area can beat its value. We’ll explore that in more detail later. But first things first:

Of Optimum’s eight internet and TV double-play bundles, you’ll find the best value in Optimum Select TV + Optimum 400. For $99.99 a month, it has 340+ channels, 400 Mbps download speeds, 40 Mbps upload speeds, and no data cap.
But if you can live in Brooklyn, you can probably get RCN’s Signature TV + Gig Internet bundle ($64.99 per month). It has 297+ channels (including SHOWTIME® and TMC), 940 Mbps download speeds, 20 Mbps upload speeds, and no data cap. That beats the pants off of Optimum.
Do you already have TV service but still need internet and home phone? Our next set of bundles will appeal to you.

†Unlimited calls are to US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands only.
In our Optimum internet review, we recommend Optimum 300 ($39.99 a month, 300 Mbps). For an additional $10 monthly, you can add Optimum’s home phone service with unlimited calls to the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. If you need a landline or you have family and friends in those countries, that’s a good deal.
But heads up, Connecticut residents: You’re likely eligible for Frontier’s FiOS 500/500 + Digital Voice. It’s a fiber plan, so it has 500 Mbps download and upload speeds. The calling area, however, is only “unlimited nationwide”—so you won’t be able to bug your relatives in the US Virgin Islands. But, since fiber is the Cadillac of internet connections, this is a super sweet deal at only $49.99 per month.

Oh, you just have to have it all, don’tcha? Internet, TV, and a retro-hip home phone. Okay, then. Optimum Select TV + Optimum 400 + Phone ($109.99 per month) is whatcha want.
This bundle has the same 340+ channels and 400 Mbps as our double-play recommendation but with unlimited calling to the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands for an additional $10.00 per month. And . . . presto! Bugging your relatives is back on the table.
Alternatively, Xfinity’s Signature Triple Play with Extreme Pro Internet has 210+ channels, 1,000 Mbps download speeds, 10 Mbps upload speeds, unlimited nationwide calling, and a 1 TB data cap for $129.99 a month. If internet speed is more important to you than channel count, jump on this Xfinity bundle. It’s available almost everywhere you can get Optimum.
Finally, those in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Long Island, and Westchester can get RCN’s sweet Signature TV + Gig Internet + Unlimited Phone bundle with 297+ channels (with SHOWTIME® and TMC), 940 Mbps download speeds, 20 Mbps upload speeds, unlimited nationwide calls, and no data cap for $89.99 per month.
This RCN deal is an excellent value. Get it if you can. And act fast so you can get the first three months free.
One cool thing about Optimum is that it periodically offers deals for current and new customers. We found a few that might float your boat.
With high speeds and 340+ channels, bundles like Optimum Select TV + Optimum 400 ($99.99 a month) and Optimum Select TV + Optimum 400 + Phone ($129.99 per month)—and little to no competition, price-wise, in its service area—Optimum bundles are worth it.
That said, RCN, Frontier, and Xfinity all offer competitive bundles in some Optimum service areas.
If you need more than value to make a decision, remember Optimum also has no contracts—and a $500 contract buyout offer. The only way Optimum could be more risk-free is if it were . . . free.
