Optimum customer service hours of operation
Optimum’s residential customer service department is open Monday–Saturday from 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. eastern time.
Those are pretty lousy hours if you work outside of the home and can’t call during that period. Fortunately, there are other ways to contact Optimum support—and its tech support department is open all night. Read on for details.
Is your internet out? Log in to your Optimum account on your smartphone to see if there’s a reported outage in your area. Optimum may already be working to resolve the issue.

Do you want a receipt for your payment? Or return equipment to a live person? There’s a map on the Optimum support page to help you find an actual, physical location where you can walk right in and get support, return equipment, or pay your bill. How do ya like that?
Pay your Optimum bill
- Phone: Call Optimum’s Automated Phone System (866-213-7456) to pay by check or credit card (no fee). Or call your region’s support number to make a rep-assisted payment (fee applies).
- Mail: Mail a check or money order (payable to Optimum) to the “remit to” address on your statement.
- Online: Sign in to your account on Optimum.net to make a payment (no fee!) or set up a one-time or recurring monthly payment. You can also view 12 months of statements on this page.
- EBT/EFT: You can set up a bank transfer with your financial institution.
- In person: Visit an Optimum store or payment center to make a payment by check, credit card, or money order. (If you’re in New Jersey, you can pay in cash.)

You can sign up for Optimum internet, phone, or TV service online 24/7 or call the general number (866-218-3259) on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. or weekends from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. eastern time. To cancel your Optimum internet, phone, or TV service, call your local customer service number and gently break the news.
Is Optimum customer service good?
Optimum has region-specific customer service departments (saving you time on hold), 24/7 tech support chat, helpful print and video tutorials, and an abundance of bill-pay options.
That’s all great, but Optimum’s searchable FAQ can return frustratingly irrelevant results. Use it if your question is simple. Otherwise, call or chat with a customer representative. But, again, those residential phone support hours aren’t very helpful.

How do I speak to an Optimum representative?
You can call the Optimum Customer Care department at 1-888-705-7171. The menu offers prompts in both English and Spanish.
Does Optimum offer discounts for seniors?
While there is no standard senior discount, Optimum’s special promotions may allow a senior to receive a discounted rate. Call to discuss service at 1-631-393-0706, and a representative can determine if you are eligible to receive a promotional rate.
What channel can I see my Optimum bill?
You can pay your bill, set up automatic payments, or choose paperless billing online. Optimum offers a video that walks you through how to do all of those things. You can also watch the video on Explore Optimum channel 900 and Explore Optimum en español on channel 904.
How do I pay my Optimum bill?
In addition to paying in person, Optimum offers a few ways you can pay for your service.
To pay online, sign in at optimum.net and click Pay Bill at the top right-hand corner of the page. From there, you can view or pay your bill. If you haven’t created an account, this is a good place to start. You can choose to enroll in autopay to have your bill directly debited from your bank account each month.
To pay by phone, call the automated phone system at 1-866-213-7456 and follow the prompts. If you want to pay your bill by speaking with a live representative, you can do so between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., but each call will cost you $10.
You can also sign up for paperless billing online. Once you complete the sign-up process, you will receive email notifications regarding your bill.
Will Optimum buy out my contract?
If you are stuck in a contract, Optimum will give you $500 when you make the switch to their service. They won’t require you to sign a contract.
