Peacock has three plans to choose from. We highly recommend upgrading to Peacock Premium Plus for reasons that we’ll break down below.

Peacock Free

The ad-supported version of the Peacock Free streaming service is available to anyone, even if you’re not an Xfinity customer. It has thousands of hours of movies and shows, but not as many as the next two plans.

Peacock Premium

Qualifying Xfinity internet customers get this plan for free, but it costs everybody else $4.99 a month. You’ll still have to sit through ads, but you can watch Peacock’s full 20,000 hours of on-demand movies and shows, plus exclusive Peacock Original Series, next-day access to current NBC series, live events, live sports, and more kids content.

Peacock Premium Plus

This one includes all of Peacock Premium content and none of the ads. Xfinity customers that qualify for free Premium can upgrade to Premium Plus for an extra $5.00 a month. Everybody else pays $9.99 monthly.

How to watch Peacock on Xfinity FAQ

Is Peacock free with Xfinity?

Peacock Premium (regularly $4.99 a month) is free to Xfinity Flex customers as well as Xfinity X1 and TV customers with Xfinity internet or Xfinity’s Digital Starter TV plan or higher.

If you qualify, you have the option to upgrade to the ad-free plan, Peacock Premium Plus, for only $5.00 per month (regularly $9.99 a month).

Or you can go with entry-level Peacock, which is free to anyone—even if you’re not an Xfinity customer—but it doesn’t have as much content as Peacock Premium or Premium Plus.

Is Peacock free with Cox?

Cox internet customers with the Essential (or higher) TV package can get Peacock Premium (regularly $4.99 a month) for free.

Can I use my Xfinity credentials to use the Peacock app?

Unfortunately, you can’t use your Xfinity credentials to use the Peacock app. This is true even if you’re getting Peacock Premium free through Xfinity. If you want to watch Peacock through the app on a device other than the Flex or X1, you’ll need a paid subscription.

But, if you don’t mind watching more ads and only half the content, you can set up a Peacock Free account on the Peacock app.

What shows are on Peacock Xfinity?

Well, for starters, Peacock is the exclusive on-demand streaming home of the wildly popular NBC series The Office. But here’s a sample of what else you can watch on Peacock:

Shows

  • All current NBC series
  • 30 Rock
  • Cheers
  • Downton Abbey
  • House
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Psych
  • Saturday Night Live

Movies

  • American Psycho
  • Despicable Me
  • E.T.
  • The Godfather trilogy
  • Lost in Translation
  • Ray
  • Reservoir Dogs
  • Shrek

Does Xfinity own Peacock?

Xfinity’s parent company, Comcast, owns NBCUniversal—which owns Peacock.

What is the difference between Peacock free and premium?

Peacock has three plans. Lemme break ‘em down for ya.

  • Peacock Free: Fully ad-supported (hence, “free”), this plan offers thousands of hours of movies and shows—but not the full Peacock catalog.
  • Peacock Premium: For $4.99 a month, you can watch everything Peacock offers—including ads. This is the plan that qualifying Xfinity customers get for free.
  • Peacock Premium Plus: This plan includes all of the content in Premium, but without the ads, for $9.99 a month. Xfinity customers that qualify for free Premium can upgrade to Plus for an extra $5.00 a month.

How long is Peacock free with Xfinity?

As long as your Xfinity account is active, you’ll have complimentary access to Peacock Premium through your Flex or X1. This deal will end if you switch to another provider.

Can I watch Peacock on Roku?

Yes, the Peacock streaming service is compatible with Roku devices.

Is Peacock worth the money?

If you’re an Xfinity customer, you already have Peacock Premium at no extra charge. It won’t hurt to check out their library of 60,000+ hours of content before deciding if you want to throw in the extra $5 to remove ads.

If you’re not an Xfinity customer, that’s okay—you can still sign up for Peacock for free and get a taste of Peacock’s library before committing to a paid subscription. It’s not for everyone, especially if you’re not interested in its array of reality TV or legacy NBC comedies, but you won’t find a better deal than “free.”
