Right now, there are nearly 700 horror movies on Amazon Prime Video — for subscribers. That’s almost as many as Shudder, the top horror streaming service. You know what else? Prime Video also has close to 2,500 more horror movies to rent via video-on-demand (VOD), including some of the newest titles around. Here’s what else Prime Video has goin’ for it in the horror department:
- Tons of obscure horror movies
- Almost any horror franchise is available to rent
- Terrifier franchise
My curated list of horror movies on Prime Video in October 2026 starts with the out-there horror comedy “Highway to Hell” and ends with the 2015 anthology “Tales from Halloween.” In the middle are themed weekends: werewolves, cosmic horror, the Terrifier series, and classics of 1979 — along with a sampling of Prime Video’s wares that covers classics through newer titles.
