The new-look Mets have World Series aspirations

The New York Mets were all the rage last season—until they weren’t. Watching the team collapse down the stretch in 2025 was about as frustrating as it gets for the Queens faithful. But 2026 is bringing some much-needed positive vibes, considering ESPN projects the team to go 92–70.

This could be the year that watching every Mets game proves a good use of your time. Someone has to challenge the Dodgers, right? Who says it can’t be the Mets in 2026 with the way they overhauled their roster?

If you’re ready to get back on the rollercoaster, this guide has you covered. I’ve broken down everything you need to watch the New York Mets all season long, complete with channel lineups and the best TV and streaming recommendations.

Where to watch the Mets—local TV breakdown

SportsNet NY (SNY) has been the home of the Mets for many years. Fans throughout New York and Connecticut, as well as parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, can access the channel through traditional cable and satellite providers. You can also purchase a standalone, in-market streaming subscription directly through MLB.com.

Additionally, fans can catch a handful of games for free over the air. The CW affiliate WPIX 11 (PIX11) will broadcast 25 regular-season Mets games this year.

Fans outside the aforementioned regions can stream Mets games with MLB.TV or watch them on MLB EXTRA INNINGS via a cable or satellite provider.

Where to watch the Mets—national TV breakdown

While SNY handles the heavy lifting for local viewers, the Mets will frequently step into the national spotlight. To catch every nationally televised game this season, you’ll need access to a mix of traditional networks: NBC, FOX, FS1, TBS, ESPN, and MLB Network.

You’ll also need to juggle a few standalone streaming platforms to catch other nationally televised games. Apple TV has your back for Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders, while Peacock Premium streams both Sunday Night Baseball and MLB Sunday Leadoff matchups.

Best TV plans for watching the New York Mets

There are plenty of services to mix and match if you want to watch as many Mets games as possible. But in my experience, there are only a few you really need.

My top pick is DIRECTV for most of the season, as it covers in-market and national MLB coverage. But you’ll also want to get Apple TV and Peacock Premium for their streaming-only games. Of course, a standalone SNY subscription is another great option if you don’t want a full live TV plan. You’ll just miss out on nationally televised games.

Best Overall

DIRECTV includes SNY (ch. 639) and every national channel the Mets will appear on, except for any streaming services. You’ll be able to watch most Mets games this season with the CHOICE™ package or higher.

Exclusive Games

The Mets will have multiple games this season streaming exclusively on the platform’s Friday Night Baseball showcase.

Exclusive Games

While the Mets don’t have any games streaming exclusively on Peacock Premium in 2026, any games airing on NBC stream on the platform. So if you don’t have a live TV plan or an antenna, this is your next best option for watching those games.

Out-of-Market Coverage

For Mets fans who aren’t in the team’s local coverage area, you can subscribe to MLB.TV to watch most regular-season games live and on demand.

Find the best TV providers near you

Sometimes, you can bundle multiple viewing options into a single plan through a local provider. Enter your zip code below to see your area’s top-ranked TV services.

Watch the Mets with a free trial

If you aren’t ready to commit to a TV package right away, I suggest getting a free trial to at least one live TV streaming service for Mets games. SNY also has a seven-day free trial for its standalone streaming service, which is perfect for in-market fans.
