When Will A24’s ‘Elden Ring’ Movie Come Out? New Details Revealed.
A24’s ‘Elden Ring’ movie could revive the epic fantasy movie genre
We’re only six months out from the upcoming “Street Fighter” film, and fans are going wild for even the mildest leaks from the upcoming “Legend of Zelda” film.
But there’s another live-action video game adaptation that really has the potential to become the next great fantasy epic. Alex Garland (“Ex Machina,” “Annihilation”) is teaming up with A24 to adapt the hit 2022 game “Elden Ring” into a feature film.
“Elden Ring” is an action role-playing game (RPG) from “Dark Souls” publisher FromSoftware and director Hidetaka Miyazaki. It was super popular with dark fantasy fans, partially due to the worldbuilding work done by its writer, George R. R. Martin (yes, that George R. R. Martin). That’s why I think its movie adaptation has the potential to become the Next Big Thing. Feel free to bookmark this page and come back in two years to tell me I was right.

‘Elden Ring’ movie release date
“Elden Ring” is coming to theaters on March 3, 2028. It’s being produced by A24, and will screen in both regular and IMAX theaters.

As noted by Polygon earlier today, several of these actors have worked with Garland before, including Kit Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Sonoya Mizuno, and Nick Offerman.
We don’t yet know which actor will be playing which character, or how Garland will manage to fit an open world game into a single film’s runtime. But with so many people working behind the scenes, it’s bound to be a doozy.
