Good news if you miss ‘Ted Lasso’: It’s not over yet.

Apple TV’s hit sports comedy “Ted Lasso” ended in 2023 with the conclusion of its third season. At least, that’s what a lot of people thought. The season finale certainly seemed to tie up a bunch of loose ends, and Ted returned to the U.S. What else was there to do?

Well, apparently Apple likes making money, because Apple renewed “Ted Lasso” for a fourth season in 2024. And with today’s release of a new teaser trailer, it seems like we know how they’re doing it: Ted is returning to the U.K. to coach women’s soccer. Fans are already pretty divided over this change: on the one hand, they’re getting back a beloved show, but on the other, it may have jumped the proverbial shark.

Whenever beloved franchises get soft-rebooted to include more women, they get a ton of criticism. Unfortunately, that’s the world we live in. So while I’m not convinced the show needs a fourth season, I’d caution you not to listen to any knee-jerk reactions about it, either.

Decide for yourself whether you like it! You can start by watching the trailer, below:

‘Ted Lasso’ season 4 release date

“Ted Lasso” makes his big return on August 5, 2026. Apple TV will air one episode every Wednesday from August 5 until October 7.
