The Houston Astros barely missed the playoffs last year. So, as we turn the page to 2026, I can’t be more excited to watch the Astros try to restart their consecutive playoff streak.
For local fans, the TV picture is crystal clear. In-market Astros games continue to air on Space City Home Network, the rebranded regional channel jointly owned by the Astros and the Houston Rockets. This network is available on cable, satellite, and select streaming services throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and parts of New Mexico.
Can the Astros bounce back into playoff contention? There’s no way of knowing for sure. But you can follow along using my TV watch guide to watch every game in 2026.
What channels have Houston Astros games?
Most regular-season Houston Astros games air regionally on Space City Home Network. But nationally televised matchups appear on FOX, FS1, ESPN, TBS, and MLB Network, with some games streaming on Apple TV and Peacock.
Out-of-market fans can watch live Space City Home Network games on MLB.TV and MLB EXTRA INNINGS.

Best TV plans for watching the Houston Astros
There are two ways to watch the Astros: with a traditional cable or satellite provider, or a streaming service of some kind. And where you live will depend on what works best for you.
Local fans will want access to Space City Home Network. Out-of-market fans, though, can really only watch Astros games with a subscription to MLB.TV for streaming, or MLB EXTRA INNINGS through a cable or satellite provider.
Below, I break down what plans I think you should at least try.
- Best Live TV Plan – DIRECTV: Fans in the Houston Astros coverage area have access to Space City Home Network through DIRECTV (Channel 674), plus national channels like FOX, FS1, and NBC.
- Best Standalone Subscription – SCHN+: This is the standalone streaming app for Space City Home Network, which has access to games from the Astros and Houston Rockets. At only $19.99 per month, it’s the cheapest way to watch most Astros games.
How to watch the Houston Astros FAQ
Can I watch Astros games on ESPN?
Yes, some Astros games could make it onto ESPN if it's a big matchup. Out-of-market viewers starting in 2026 can subscribe to MLB.TV via ESPN, too.
Can I watch the Astros on Hulu?
Yes, you can watch select Houston Astros games on Hulu + Live TV because it carries every core MLB channel. But in-market fans won’t get complete coverage since Hulu doesn’t have Space City Home Network.
What happened to AT&T SportsNet Southwest?
The Houston Astros and Houston Rockets acquired AT&T SportsNet Southwest from Warner Bros. Discovery in 2023, rebranding it as Space City Home Network.
