2026 Houston Astros schedule and game times

The Houston Astros won nearly 90 games last year, and still didn’t make the playoffs due to a slew of catastrophic injuries. That’s what got me chomping at the bit to analyze the 2026 Astros TV schedule.

If healthy, the Astros should get back to the playoffs. I’m excited to watch every game, and I know other Astros fans out there are, too. This guide gives you the complete schedule, including game times and channel listings, so you can follow along all season.

Key dates for the 2026 Astros season

The Houston Astros’ season will be long, but a lot of fun. To make it easier to track, I broke out a few dates and stretches that could be very impactful for the Astros this year.

Home Opener (March 26): The Astros get started at Daikin Park from the jump with a matchup against the Los Angeles Angels.
AL West matchups: Look out for series against the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Angels, Athletics, and Seattle Mariners. In August, the Astros play nine straight games against divisional opponents.
MLB All-Star Week (July 11–14): I have a feeling the Astros will have some players suiting up for the 2026 All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
MLB Trade Deadline (Aug. 3): The Astros might be looking to upgrade their roster for the home stretch if they’re on the cusp of contending for a trip to the World Series.

The Astros will play 162 games during the regular season. If they make the playoffs, that number will increase.

Who are the Astros biggest rivals?

The Texas Rangers are the primary rivals of the Houston Astros in what is known as the Lone Star Series. While the two teams have played for the "Silver Boot" trophy since 2001, the rivalry intensified in 2013 when the Astros moved to the AL West. Other rivalries include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, and New York Yankees.

How long does an Astros game last?

Most Astros games last between two and a half to three hours. While the new ABS challenge system adds a few minutes of drama, MLB's pitch clock rules continue to keep broadcasts shorter than in years past.
