How To Watch the Houston Rockets: 2025–2026 Season TV Guide

The Rockets swung for the stars this offseason by landing Kevin Durant in a massive seven-team trade. Here’s how to watch every minute of their 2025–2026 season live on TV!

Kevin Durant’s arrival in Houston has shifted everything. After a breakthrough 2024–2025 where the Rockets finished as the No. 2 seed in the West, the front office didn’t just stand pat. They traded for Durant and center Clint Capela in the NBA’s record-setting seven-team deal. On top of that, Houston added veteran Dorian Finney-Smith to round out their young core.

And yet, so many questions remain. How will Durant integrate with the young core? Can this new-look squad maintain its efficiency? And will players like Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengün, and Jeff Green step up in bigger roles now that the spotlight is brighter? If the chemistry clicks, Houston is in line to make real noise in the West.

To help you watch the Houston Rockets through every twist and turn, I’ve created this complete guide to their TV schedule and viewing options.

What channels have Houston Rockets games?

Most in-market Rockets games air on Space City Home Network (SCHN). The regional sports network broadcasts throughout southeast Texas, parts of Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and eastern New Mexico.

A handful of high-profile Rockets games will also air on national channels like ABC, ESPN, and NBC. Additionally, a new slate of games will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video and Peacock.

If you’re outside SCHN’s broadcast region, NBA League Pass is your go-to service for watching out-of-market Rockets games. But blackout rules still apply to local and national broadcasts, depending on your location.

Want radio coverage? Locally, you can listen to Houston Rockets games on SportsTalk 790 KBME and NewsRadio 740 KTRH. Fans can also tune in to TUDN 93.3 FM for Spanish-language coverage throughout the season.

2025–2026 Houston Rockets TV schedule

Houston has raised its ceiling this season, aiming to solve last year’s playoff problem of a lack of scoring in pivotal moments. The core of this new-look team revolves around Durant, Alperen Sengün, Amen Thompson, and Jabari Smith Jr., with veteran guard Fred VanVleet back on a two-year pact. Now, the big question is how quickly the team gels under Ime Udoka as they chase a deep playoff run.

With Durant’s late-game shotmaking and Clint Capela’s rim protection, the Rockets look much more balanced than a year ago. Add in Sengün’s playmaking from the pivot and Thompson’s two-way burst, and Houston has the pieces to climb the West standings again.

Best TV plans for watching the Houston Rockets

The NBA’s updated media deal has made catching every Houston Rockets game a bit more complex. To see the full season, you’ll need access to Amazon Prime Video and Peacock for their exclusive streaming matchups. Meanwhile, fans outside the Rockets’ TV market should grab NBA League Pass for out-of-market coverage.

If you’re an in-market fan, Space City Home Network is the regional broadcaster carrying most Rockets games, and it’s available through select cable and streaming partners. My pick for the best all-in-one service is Stream with DIRECTV, as it bundles the RSN with all the national channels like ESPN and ABC. It’s one of the pricier live TV packages, but you get unlimited DVR, a clean and reliable app, and plenty of extra channels for when the Rockets aren’t on.

Fubo is another strong alternative with SCHN access, but I prefer DIRECTV’s in-app experience. Just be aware that both services include a regional sports fee, which adds to the monthly cost.

How to watch the Houston Rockets for free

Your most reliable free option for catching some Rockets games is a digital antenna. This allows you to watch all nationally televised matchups that air on ABC and NBC at no cost. To see which stations you can pick up with an antenna, use the FCC’s Reception Map Tool or Antenna Direct’s TV Transmitter Locator.

Unfortunately, a digital antenna will not get you access to local Rockets games on Space City Home Network or national networks. That makes your next best option a free trial from a live TV streaming service, such as DIRECTV and Fubo. These services offer trial periods regularly, giving you the chance to watch some matchups for free.
