Fresh off a thrilling 2025 Eastern Conference Finals run, the New York Knicks didn’t rest on their laurels. Their big bet on Karl-Anthony Towns clearly paid off, as he was a huge reason for their postseason success. Building on that momentum, they also re-signed the rest of their core, including Jalen “Big Body” Brunson, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart.
They also added Guerschon Yabusele from the 76ers (most famous for dunking on Bron in the Olympics) and Jordan Clarkson from the Utah Jazz. Those additions give the team size, grit, and scoring from both the interior and the perimeter. With Brunson steering the offense and Mike Brown taking over on the bench, the Knicks have real continuity and excellent upgrades.
I think the roster is deeper, more versatile, and built for another long spring, giving them a better shot at the East’s top spot. All that potential makes the Knicks one of the most exciting teams to watch on TV this season.

You can watch the Knicks go to work all season long in a variety of ways. Stay tuned to the following local, national, and streaming outlets to ensure you don’t miss any of the action.
- Local games: If you live in New York, most games are available on MSG Network, with streaming access available through The Gotham Sports App.

- Streaming exclusives: A new slate of games will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video and Peacock. Prime Video will also carry NBA Cup and Play-In Tournament matchups.

2025–2026 New York Knicks TV schedule
Don’t get me wrong, the Knicks have been nothing but awesome since Jalen Brunson showed up. But they can’t seem to find the pieces to make it to the Finals. I’m really hoping this is the season they get to fight for a championship because this team is full of pit bulls. After their recent playoff run and some key roster adjustments, the Knicks have a prime opportunity to take the East by storm.
This season’s schedule is packed with drama. There are plenty of big-ticket matchups, games that will affect the Knicks’ postseason aspirations, and those grudge matches where the team plays with a chip on its shoulder (I can’t wait for their first game against the Pacers). It’s shaping up to be must-see basketball nearly every week.
To help you follow all the action, I’ve laid out the complete 2025–2026 Knicks TV schedule below. I’ll be keeping it updated with the latest tip-off times and channel listings all season long.

Best TV plans for watching the New York Knicks
Watching every Knicks game this season requires a mix of regional, national, and streaming-exclusive coverage. But the best TV plan for you will depend on two things: where you live and your budget.
For Knicks fans living in the New York TV market, my top recommendations are Stream with DIRECTV and Fubo. They are the two major streaming services that carry MSG Network for local games and include the essential national channels. Just be aware that both services include a regional sports fee, which adds to the monthly cost.
If you’re a fan living outside the New York area, you’ll need NBA League Pass to watch the out-of-market MSG broadcasts. While you can add NBA League Pass to DIRECTV and Fubo, YouTube TV is an excellent and often cheaper alternative for out-of-market fans. It has all the national channels and offers NBA League Pass as an add-on, without any mandatory regional sports fees.
Whichever primary service you go with, you’ll still want Amazon Prime Video and Peacock on hand for their exclusive streaming games. You can use the TV schedule above to plan the best times to subscribe to these services to avoid paying for a full year.
Standalone in-market TV package for Knicks games

If you don’t want a comprehensive live TV package—whether it’s cable or a streaming service—your best bet is to subscribe directly to The Gotham Sports App. For $29.99 a month, you get a direct, standalone stream of MSG Network, which is the home of most Knicks broadcasts.
The app is a powerhouse for New York sports fans. It’s available on all major streaming devices, and you can even pay more to bundle content from both MSG Network (for the Knicks and Rangers) and YES Network (for the Yankees and Nets). That’s a bonus for anyone who follows multiple local teams.
On top of the live games, the app is packed with features like detailed stats, interactive games, and a loyalty rewards program. It’s a fantastic, modern way to make sure you never miss “Big Body” or “Big Bodega” in action.
How to watch the New York Knicks for free
While it won’t be long-lasting, you can catch some Knicks games by making the most of free trial offers and over-the-air (OTA) broadcasts. Free trials from services like DIRECTV, Fubo, and YouTube TV will get you some of the core national NBA channels. These trials typically last about a week, which is enough time to catch a big game or two.
Additionally, a basic digital antenna is a fantastic tool for any NBA fan. Thanks to the league’s new media deal, more Knicks games than ever will air nationwide on OTA channels like ABC and NBC. This means you can catch many of their biggest matchups for free, as long as you live within range of affiliate ABC and NBC stations.
How to watch the New York Knicks FAQ
Do I need cable to watch the Knicks on MSG Network?
No, you don’t need a standard cable subscription to watch MSG Network. Knicks fans can stream the regional sports network through providers like DIRECTV and Fubo, or subscribe directly to The Gotham Sports App for in-market coverage without a live TV plan.
What’s the best streaming service for New York Knicks games?
For most Knicks fans, DIRECTV offers the most complete coverage because it includes MSG Network for local games and major national broadcasters like ESPN, NBC, and NBA TV. Fubo is another strong choice, offering similar access and unlimited DVR. Both services allow you to add NBA League Pass for out-of-market games.
Can I watch the Knicks on MSG’s national feed?
No, MSG’s national feed doesn’t carry live Knicks games outside of the New York viewing area due to NBA blackout rules. Fans outside the market will need NBA League Pass for live access. The national MSG channel still features Knicks-related programming, including highlights and classic games.
Who are the TV announcers for the New York Knicks?
The Knicks have one of the most iconic broadcast booths in all of sports. Local games on MSG Network feature legendary play-by-play announcer Mike Breen alongside color commentator and Knicks legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier. Kenny Albert and Tyler Murray occasionally fill in for Breen.
Who’s the head coach for the New York Knicks?
The 2025–2026 season sees a new name on the sidelines, as Mike Brown replaces Tom Thibodeau. Brown comes from the Sacramento Kings and brings a championship-winning resume, two Coach of the Year awards, and a reputation for playoff success and player development.
