Dallas is in full transition mode after General Manager Nico Harrison took responsibility for shipping out Luka. In return, the Mavs got Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and future draft picks, setting off a ton of scrutiny and high expectations.
So, now what? Davis is meant to provide defensive backbone, but his health and fitness will be under the microscope. Meanwhile, young guard Cooper Flagg (fresh from Duke and the No.1 pick) has joined the fold. And veteran Kyrie Irving is rehabbing from a torn ACL.
This season is a proving ground. Can Dallas redefine itself without its former superstar? With a healthy roster, the Mavs could still be a problem for the league, and only time will tell if their GM was onto something. Check out this TV guide to follow all the high-stakes action this season.

What channels have Dallas Mavericks games?
You can catch most local Mavericks games for free on MavsTV affiliates, including Dallas-Fort Worth area stations KFAA (channel 29) and WFAA (channel 8). These channels now broadcast games that were previously shown on regional sports networks.
Nationally televised games will air on ABC, ESPN, NBA TV, and NBC. Streaming platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Peacock also have exclusive rights to certain games throughout the season. As always, if you live outside of Texas, you’ll want to get NBA League Pass to make sure you don’t miss those MavsTV broadcasts.
2025–2026 Dallas Mavericks TV schedule
With Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford, and Dereck Lively II leading the way, many eyes are on the Mavericks’ revitalized interior offense and defense this season. Veterans like the still-recovering Kyrie Irving will be counted on for scoring, but young guys (like Max Christie and Cooper Flagg) might challenge expectations early.
With conference rivals still loaded in the West, Dallas’ path to the playoffs looks steep. Expect a fair number of must-watch games: matchups with contenders, nationally televised nights, and home games where Davis is available. Off-court situations will matter when it comes to the team’s balance and chemistry.
Below is the complete Mavericks TV schedule. I’ll keep the table updated as the season progresses, so you can see which matchups are local vs. national, and which will require a streaming service.

Best TV plans for watching the Dallas Mavericks games
Most local Mavericks games are now available for free with a digital antenna (which I cover in the Watch for Free section). But a dedicated TV plan is still the best way to get every game, including most national broadcasts. To help you choose the best plan, I’ve broken down my top recommendation below.
Quick note: The Mavs have games exclusive to Amazon Prime Video and Peacock this season. You’ll need separate subscriptions for each, but you can use the schedule above to plan your subscriptions accordingly.

Stream with DIRECTV ($89.99–$169.99/mo.)
My top provider pick for local fans who want reliable, all-in-one access to Mavericks games is DIRECTV. It’s the most complete package because it includes local MavsTV channels (like WFAA in Dallas) for the majority of Mavs games, plus national networks like ESPN and ABC for primetime matchups.
While blackout rules still apply in some cases, having both regional and national channels in one place helps minimize disruptions. The service works across smart TVs, mobile devices, and popular streaming platforms, making it easy to watch at home or on the go. DIRECTV also comes with unlimited DVR storage, which is great for catching up on games after the fact.
How to watch the Dallas Mavericks for free

For fans in the Dallas area, the best and most reliable way to watch for free is with a digital antenna. Because most local Mavericks games now air on over-the-air MavsTV channels like KFAA and WFAA, you can catch the majority of the season at no cost.
For the handful of games on cable channels like ESPN, your main strategy is to use a live TV streaming free trial. Services like DIRECTV and Fubo offer trial periods, letting you “test drive” each before committing.
How to watch the Dallas Mavericks FAQ
Are Mavericks games really available to watch for free?
Yes, a significant number of Mavericks games are now available for free over the air. Thanks to a new deal with Dallas affiliates KFAA and WFAA (and other MavsTV stations), local fans can catch nearly all non-national games without a TV subscription.
How can I watch MavsTV?
In-market fans have two main options. You can watch MavsTV with a standalone streaming subscription to the service. Alternatively, local over-the-air affiliates throughout Texas also carry MavsTV coverage, which only requires a digital antenna.
Can I watch Mavs games if I live out of market?
Yes! If you’re outside the Mavericks’ TV territory, NBA League Pass is your best option for watching out-of-market Mavericks games. While blackout rules still apply for local and national games, replays are typically available shortly after the live broadcast ends.
Who are the TV announcers for the Dallas Mavericks?
Local Mavericks broadcasts feature longtime play-by-play announcer Mark Followill on the call. Former Mavericks players Derek Harper and Devin Harris join Followill as color commentators.
What’s the biggest question for Dallas this season?
It’s figuring out chemistry without Doncic leading the offense. With Anthony Davis taking a major role, Cooper Flagg stepping in as the rookie face, and Kyrie’s recovery timeline, how quickly the group gels will define whether they’re fringe playoff contenders or rebuilding.
How serious are the injuries to Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving?
Davis has had chronic concerns, especially with durability. His physical condition this season is central to Dallas’s defensive hopes. Meanwhile, Kyrie’s torn ACL means he’s out for most of the season. His absence shifts more playmaking pressure onto youngsters and supporting veterans.
