There’s a reason why Michigan vs. Ohio State is known simply as The Game: It’s one of college football’s oldest rivalries, and it regularly features both teams operating at the height of their powers.
This year’s edition of The Game is no different, as Ohio State and Michigan enter this matchup on identical trajectories: Both teams sport undefeated records, stellar talent on both sides of the ball, and rosters that are more than capable of winning a national championship. Here’s what you need to know about watching or streaming Michigan vs. Ohio State.
What time is the Michigan vs. Ohio State game?
This year’s Ohio State team isn’t necessarily like past Buckeyes clubs with offenses that regularly lit up the scoreboard. Buckeyes coach Ryan Day gradually ramped up quarterback Kyle McCord’s workload throughout the season, and Ohio State’s top-ranked defense has consistently picked up the slack when necessary. But at the same time, Ohio State racked up excellent wins against Penn State and Notre Dame and went undefeated during their Big Ten conference schedule.
Michigan’s made as many headlines off the field as they have on-field this season, but when it comes to gameday, the Wolverines have taken care of business. Except for Penn State and Maryland, Michigan has blown out every opponent they’ve faced by multiple touchdowns and has spent much of the season pegged as a favorite to return to the College Football Playoff.
Michigan vs. Ohio State will be on Saturday, November 25. It’ll air on FOX at 12:00 p.m., and the game will be at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Michigan vs. Ohio State preview
Ohio State and Michigan fans don’t need us to repeat this week’s stakes: Ryan Day is 1–2 against Michigan and really doesn’t want that record to drop to 1–3. The game-winner will move onto the playoff and potentially fulfill their national championship aspirations, while the loser will be on the outside looking in at the playoff race.

Can Ohio State build the whole plane out of Marvin Harrison Jr.?
Although Ohio State isn’t scoring points like past teams, settling for Kyle McCord is the definition of champagne problems. McCord still ranks a solid 13th in quarterback rating nationally, and he’s grown into postseason form with big games against Michigan State and Rutgers.
If you’re a first-year starting quarterback in the thick of the national championship race, you couldn’t ask for a better safety valve than receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. He accounts for nearly 40% of Ohio State’s total passing yardage and every week, Harrison has shown why he’s been a Heisman front-runner and Ohio State’s next first-round NFL Draft pick. Against Michigan, expect Harrison to be McCord’s Option A by a considerable margin.

Can Michigan’s tackles hold up?
Michigan’s shift to a run-first strategy against Penn State raised a few eyebrows, as we hadn’t seen Michigan return to its Run, Run, And Then Also Run playbook yet this season. It still led to a win, and we’re blessedly past the discourse about whether or not quarterback J.J. McCarthy can throw downfield.
But it underscores one of the few sore spots for this year’s Michigan team: Their offensive line’s fine but a step behind last year’s pile-driving crew. Michigan’s rushing efficiency stats are down year-over-year, and against Penn State, tackle Karsen Barnhart’s inability to hold off defenders made Michigan play more conservatively than expected. Michigan’s offense can still rack up points, but Ohio State’s stable of pass rushers is likely taking notes from Penn State’s playbook.
Will Jim Harbaugh coach versus Ohio State?
Offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore will be Michigan’s interim coach for the Ohio State game after Michigan accepted the Big Ten’s suspension for Jim Harbaugh.
The on-field impact of Michigan’s coach-swap could go in any direction. Michigan comfortably won multiple games without Harbaugh this season but kept Maryland closer than expected, and Ohio State is a much harder opponent than Bowling Green or Penn State. Plus, quarterback J.J. McCarthy’s stats with Moore haven’t been spectacular:
J.J. McCarthy in three games coached by Sherrone Moore this season: 27-of-44 (61.3%), 344 yards, 2 TD, 4 INT, 26 yards rushing, 0 rushing TD
— Scott Bell (@sbell021) November 18, 2023
J.J. McCarthy in Michigan's other eight games this season: 148-of-193 (76.7%), 1,991 yards, 16 TD, 0 INT, 138 yards rushing, 3 rushing TD
