Breanna Stewart leads the Liberty in scoring. Jonquel Jones leads in rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu is working her way back to form since returning from a back injury.
New York also has four starters who average double-digit points per game. But the team’s strength lies in its defense. At the time of this writing, the Liberty are the second-best defense in the WNBA, behind only the Minnesota Lynx.
The Liberty’s only Commissioner’s Cup title came against the Las Vegas Aces, so there is precedent for success for New York.
