Is ViX worth it?

Even without a subscription, ViX is a must-have app for its free Spanish-language programming. Of course, the premium plan kicks things up several notches. We don’t like ViX’s slow interface, absence of a watchlist feature, and limited English-language subtitles (newer originals include Spanish and English captions). But its affordability and content richness cement its worth in the streaming arena.

ViX offers two subscription options: ViX Gratis and ViX Premium. With ViX Gratis, you can access a free, ad-supported selection of movies, series, and novelas. Alternatively, ViX Premium (formerly ViX+) provides an expanded content library, including exclusive originals and more live sports.

It’s worth noting that ViX Premium subscribers will encounter ads while watching ViX Gratis programming. Additional premium content may include commercials—especially when watching live channels and sporting events.

ViX offers an impressive lineup of 100+ free channels through ViX Gratis in the U.S. But unlike ViX in other territories, the U.S. premium plan doesn’t include additional networks. Therefore, you won’t get crucial TelevisaUnivision channels like Univision, UniMás, Galavisión, and TUDN on ViX.

ViX specs and features

Like most streaming services, ViX relies heavily on its content to attract viewers. The quality of its original series and sports coverage is clear. However, the ViX interface needs more attention because it lacks a watchlist feature and suffers slow load times.

On a positive note, you can log in to ViX on up to 10 devices and watch up to three simultaneous streams. You can also catch select sports replays for up to 48 hours after the event ends.

Video and audio quality

ViX delivers a conventional video and audio presentation. It offers most of its content in high definition, ensuring crisp and clear picture quality. But many older programs stream in standard definition with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Per the ViX Help Center, you’ll want a minimum internet speed of 40Mbps for optimal playback and minimal buffering. It’s also worth mentioning that ViX doesn’t offer any 4K content.
