ViX Review: Plans, Pricing, Channels, and Features

ViX is a live and on-demand streaming platform from TelevisaUnivision, the company behind Univision and UniMás. The service offers one of the most extensive Spanish-language streaming libraries in the U.S. It’s also available across Mexico and much of Latin America, with pricing and content varying by market.

With a diverse collection spanning TV series, movies, original productions, news, and live sports, ViX caters to a broad spectrum of tastes. Sports fans have an especially strong reason to pay attention thanks to TUDN’s presence on the service, which makes ViX more than a hub for telenovelas and movies.

That sports connection is a big part of ViX’s appeal. TelevisaUnivision said its platforms aired six of the 10 most-watched soccer matches in the U.S. in 2025, regardless of language. Below, I’ll break down ViX’s plans, pricing, content, and features to help you decide whether it deserves a spot in your streaming lineup.

Is ViX worth it?

With its budget-friendly plans, ViX is nearly perfect for anyone who wants to stream Spanish-language content. It boasts a rich library of TV shows and movies while offering exclusive live sports and news coverage.

Even without a subscription, ViX is a must-have app for its free Spanish-language programming. Of course, the premium plan kicks things up several notches. ViX Premium (formerly ViX+) is an excellent alternative for fans of TelevisaUnivision programming, delivering captivating content at a fraction of the cost of traditional TV.

ViX’s sometimes sluggish interface and limited English-language subtitles are my biggest drawbacks. Still, I think its affordability and deep content library make it a worthwhile streaming option for Spanish-speaking households.

ViX plans and pricing remain competitive

ViX offers three subscription options: ViX Gratis, ViX Premium with ads, and ViX Premium without ads. With ViX Gratis, you can access a free, ad-supported selection of movies, series, and novelas. The two ViX Premium plans provide an expanded content library, including exclusive originals and more live sports.

If you’re planning to stick with ViX Premium for a full year, annual billing offers some savings. The ad-supported plan costs $54.99 a year, while ViX Premium without ads costs $84.99 a year.

One caveat with ViX Premium without ads is that it isn’t completely commercial-free. Live channels, sporting events, and some other programming may still include ads.

ViX deals and promotions

ViX doesn’t run many standalone promotions, but you can still watch a large selection of content for free with ViX Gratis. Creating a free account also unlocks features like My List, where you can save shows and movies to watch later.

Already have a live TV subscription? Check your provider before paying for ViX separately. Spectrum includes ViX Premium with ads with qualifying TV plans, while DIRECTV includes it with its MiEspañol package at no extra cost.

Shows and movies on ViX

ViX offers a blend of original and acquired on-demand content. Many telenovelas and TV shows come from ViX’s sister networks like Univision, UniMás, Galavisión, and Las Estrellas. But it also features Spanish-dubbed series from across the globe, including K-dramas, anime, reality shows, and true-crime tales.

Venturing beyond the TV realm, ViX boasts an extensive library of movies bound to delight cinephiles. You’ll find Spanish-language classics, including a trove of Cantinflas films, alongside a rotating selection of newer movies and Hollywood titles.

Live sports on ViX

Sports fans who prefer Spanish-language commentary will find plenty of soccer and other live sports on ViX. Many marquee events require ViX Premium, though select games and sports programming are available for free.

ViX channels

ViX offers an impressive lineup of 80+ channels across its free and premium services in the U.S. These ad-supported networks cover news, sports, entertainment, and classic programming, but they don’t include full live feeds from networks like Univision, UniMás, Galavisión, and TUDN.

ViX specs and features

Like most streaming services, ViX relies heavily on its content to attract viewers. The quality of its original series and sports coverage is clear, and the service now includes useful features like My List for saving shows and movies you want to watch later. Still, I found the interface occasionally sluggish during testing.

You can log in to ViX on up to 10 devices, with simultaneous streaming limits depending on your plan. ViX Premium with ads supports two streams at once, while ViX Premium without ads allows up to four. Select live sports replays also remain available for up to 48 hours after an event ends.

ViX Premium without ads adds another useful perk for travelers: You can download select movies and series on iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets for offline viewing.

Video and audio quality

ViX delivers a conventional video and audio presentation. Most newer content streams in high definition, while many older programs are available in standard definition with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Per the ViX Help Center, ViX recommends an internet speed of at least 40Mbps for optimal streaming and minimal buffering. It’s also worth mentioning that ViX doesn’t offer any 4K content.

Compatible devices

ViX works with most major streaming devices, smart TVs, phones, tablets, and web browsers. It doesn’t currently list PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo consoles among its supported platforms, but you can cast ViX from an iOS or Android device using Chromecast.

How do I sign up for ViX?

There are many ways to sign up for ViX. For instance, services like Amazon Prime Video, Sling TV, and YouTube TV offer ViX Premium as an add-on channel. But I’ll outline how to create your account directly through ViX.com and the ViX app.

1. Visit ViX.com or download the ViX app.
2. Select the profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Choose a free or ViX Premium plan.
4. Create a ViX account and confirm your email address.
5. Enter your payment details if necessary and start streaming.
