This week’s “What To Watch” picks include the long-awaited fourth season of the action-packed”Reacher” (Prime Video), the third season of the workplace comedy “Tires” (Netflix), the second season of the gritty crime thriller “Women in Blue” (Apple TV), and the first season of “Lanterns” (HBO, HBO Max).
What else should you be watching this week? I recommend a video-on-demand (VOD) double-feature with the highbrow documentary “Jackass: Best and Last” and the comedy thriller “All Night Wrong.”

“Jackass: Best and Last” | VOD | Comedy, documentary
Movie, Tuesday, Aug. 11: This is a very special final episode of the Jackass saga, which began three decades ago. Did you ever think the prank show would go on this long? I, for one, am happy it did. Watching a bunch of dudes (no gendering here; if you’re in the crew, you’re a “dude”) turn intrusive thoughts into messy, painful, often terrifying reality has been one of the great pleasures of my life. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a little. But I always have fun with Jackass, the show and the movies, and I look forward to seeing this greatest hits retrospective/swan song — and pretending it’s actually the last we’ll hear from Johnny Knoxville and crew. (Come on, you know, they’re game for something like “Jackass: Bad Grandpas.”)

Season 4 premiere, Wednesday, Aug. 12: Alan Ritchson returns as the swole-af, wise-cracking ass-kicker from Lee Child’s novels. This season’s based on “Gone Tomorrow,” the 13th such book, which finds Reacher going from a chance subway encounter to, press materials say, “a complex and deadly game that pits him against ruthless foes from the highest echelons of power.” Isn’t that kinda where every season goes? I mean, I’m not complaining. I’m just glad to have another action-packed, ass-kicking season of this show, which blasts off with tonight’s three-episode premiere.

“Women in Blue” | Apple TV | Drama
Season 2 premiere, Wednesday, Aug. 12: Mexico’s trailblazing female police force returns in a sophomore season of this 1970s crime drama (aka “Las Azules”). Having cracked the precinct’s boy’s club with her promotion to lieutenant, María (Bárbara Mori) leads her crew into a dangerous investigation. When a murdered student activist opens up old wounds tied to the 1968 student massacre — and a new body connected to the tragedy pops up, leading to a possible vigilante.
New on Netflix this week
“Tires ” | Netflix | Comedy
Season 3 premiere, Thursday, Aug. 13: The dirty, dysfunctional crew of Valley Forge Auto returns for a third season in Shane Gillis and Steve Gerben’s workplace comedy. This time, they’re part-owners of the store and their new responsibilities lead to even more greasy hijinks, but with higher stakes. Look for guest appearances from Bobby Lee (“MADtv”) and Matt Walsh (“Upright Citizens Brigade”). All episodes are available to stream today.

Series premiere, Sunday, Aug. 16, 9 pm ET: Put on your glow-in-the-dark power ring and your detective cap! When a gruesome, extraterrestrial-tinged murder rocks a small town in the American heartland, Green Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) is reluctantly forced to mentor bright-eyed rookie John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and the dysfunctional duo must pause their bickering to unravel a dark conspiracy that threatens Earth and the galaxy beyond. Episodes drop once per week through October 4.

In this comedy-thriller, Zach Cherry (“Fallout,” “Severance”) and Maria Bakalova (“Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” “Bodies Bodies Bodies”) play a couple who, on their first date, accidentally steal a killer’s car — which happens to contain a dead body and $40,000. You can rent “All Night Wrong” from video-on-demand (VOD) outlets like Apple TV, Fandango at Home (formerly VUDU), Google Movies & TV, and Prime Video as of Friday, August 14.
