Cheapest Xfinity internet plan (West region)

Connect

  • $24.99/mo. for first 24 mos.*
  • 75 Mbps max download speed
  • 10 Mbps max upload speed
Connect

*For the first 24 months with a 1-year agreement.

In Xfinity’s West region, which covers the Intermountain West and West Coast, Connect is the cheapest Xfinity cable internet service plan. With a maximum download speed of 75 Mbps and a 10 Mbps maximum upload speed, Connect offers modest headroom for customers.

This internet service plan works best for one- to two-person households that only use the internet for tasks like browsing Facebook or YouTube. Your bill will also increase to $61.00 per month after your second year.

If your budget has flexibility and you live in a three- to five-person household, we’d recommend upgrading to the Connect More plan. With maximum download speeds of 200 Mbps, either package accommodates more family members who want to take video calls or stream TV shows.

Pro tip: If you’re part of a low-income household or need cheap no-contract internet service, consider Xfinity’s alternative programs:

Get Performance Starter

*For the first 12 months with a 1-year agreement.

For customers in Xfinity’s Central region, which covers most midwestern states, Performance Starter is the cheapest Xfinity plan.

With its 75 Mbps maximum download speed and 10 Mbps upload speed, your cable internet performance will start to slow down if more than a few people are taking Zoom calls or transferring large files. Your bill will increase  to the current ongoing rate once your one-year promotional pricing ends.

We’d recommend the Connect More or Fast packages if you live with your family or a few housemates. Either package offers faster maximum download speeds that are better suited for multiple internet users.

Count your fortunes if you’re a potential Xfinity customer in the Northeast: you get good Dunkin’ Donuts stores, better sports teams, and great Xfinity internet deals.

In the Northeast region, Xfinity’s cheapest internet plan is Performance Pro. With 400 Mbps maximum download speeds and 10 Mbps upload speeds, the plan can handle multiple people who regularly stream 4K TV shows and take video calls.

Performance Pro is faster than Xfinity’s other 75 Mbps entry-level plans, and it’s also Xfinity’s cheapest 400 Mbps internet package. The same plan costs over $10.00 more in Xfinity’s Central and West regions.

The Performance Starter and Performance packages have slower download speeds and higher first-year prices compared to Performance Pro, but you won’t have to deal with a scheduled price increase.

Still, Performance Pro is a great overall deal for Xfinity customers. At only $39.99 per month during its promotional pricing period, the plan offers fast download speeds that can comfortably support multiple internet users.

How much internet speed do I need?

Generally, the cheapest internet plans are also the slowest internet plans. If you have a family that’s regularly video calling and online gaming, you’ll have bad internet performance on a internet plan with low download speeds.

For larger households that regularly use the internet, we’d—at minimum—recommend Xfinity’s 200 Mbps internet plans. But Xfinity’s 75 Mbps plans could be a fit if you’re getting service for yourself or a two- to three-person household that doesn’t regularly use the internet.

Is Xfinity internet any good?

Xfinity offers reliable cable internet, TV, and phone service nearly nationwide although we aren’t fans of the provider’s data caps or contract pricing.

How does Xfinity promotional pricing work?

As with most internet providers, Xfinity offers promos that initially give you a lower internet price that increases down the road. These price hikes usually come after one or two years, depending on the exact internet plan.

If you’d rather not bite the bullet and pay a larger monthly internet bill, we’d suggest trying to negotiate with Xfinity, changing internet providers before your promo pricing ends, or downgrading your service.
