How to Program Your Cox Remote

We’ve put together a guide to help you pair, program, and reset your Cox remote.

Getting started with your new Cox remote might be a little confusing, but we’re here to help. Our guide provides the steps you need to get your remote paired with your device. Get ready to be a button master.

Identify the Cox remote you’re using

Your Cox universal remote controls up to four devices. That includes DVRs, DVD/Blu-ray players, soundbars, and TVs.

Cox makes it pretty easy to identify the remote control you’re using. If you saved the information that came with the remote, check that to get your remote control’s name or type and its model number.

If you’re a Cox subscriber—or are going to be—you will most likely have the Contour or Contour 2 remote control.

Visiting the Cox site is also an excellent way to find your remote control, and there are pictures and links to a guide for every type. Don’t feel bad if you can’t find the needed paperwork; you’re covered online.
