Cox sports packages

Cox divides its sports offerings into two channel packs. The Sports & Information Pack includes a mix of mid-tier sports channels like CBS Sports Network and SEC Network.

Completionists or diehard fans can throw in Sports Pack 2, which adds channels like NFL RedZone, MLB Network Strike Zone, and NBA TV. However, both channel packs require Cox’s Contour TV Preferred or Contour TV Ultimate plans—you can’t get them if you sign up for Cox’s basic TV Starter plan.

Cox sports channels

Cox’s sports channels cover the expected bases for a cable TV provider. Below, we’ve listed all the major sports channels you’ll get on every Cox TV plan. (We’ve omitted channels like TNT that show sports and regular programming, but they’re available on nearly every Cox plan.)

We didn’t include Cox’s channel numbers because they can vary widely depending on which Cox-serviced state you live in. If you’re having trouble finding FOX Sports 1 (FS1) or CBS Sports Network on your channel plan, we’d recommend visiting Cox’s channel number guide for additional help.

Premium channels on Cox

Premium cable channels like Paramount+ with SHOWTIME® and STARZ® can be added to your channel package during checkout for an additional monthly fee.

Regional sports networks on Cox

Want to catch midweek NBA or MLB games? Cox will have you covered with its regional sports network (RSN) lineup. On Cox’s Preferred and Ultimate plans, you’ll have access to a number of local networks, although availability varies by location.

Major regional sports networks on Cox

  • FanDuel Sports Network
  • NESN
  • Spectrum SportsNet

What is a regional sports fee?

Providers like Cox typically charge an additional fee (around $15 monthly) to get RSNs like FanDuel Sports Network and Spectrum SportsNet. You must pay these fees if you sign up for Contour Preferred or Ultimate.

Spanish-language sports offerings on Cox

Cox’s Latino Pack is an excellent add-on if your family’s looking for Spanish-language content. In addition to Spanish-language news content, you’ll also get sports channels like TUDN, ESPN Deportes, and Fox Deportes. But as with Cox’s other channel packs, they’ll only be available for purchase if you subscribe to Contour Preferred or Ultimate.

Is Cox worth it for sports fans?

For sports fans, Cox’s TV plans have a few annoying misses. We wish Cox consolidated its sports add-on channels into a single pack instead of splitting them up, and most of the mid-tier sports cable channels are paywalled behind Contour Ultimate. But at the same time, Cox offers a solid selection of sports networks for its subscribers. Whether you’re looking for baseball, football, basketball, or anything else, you’ll be covered with a Cox TV plan.
