Is your Cox TV or internet bill too high? Get the answers in our Cox prices guide.

Cox may not be long for this world thanks to its pending merger with Spectrum. But if you’re shopping for internet, phone, or TV services in the south or southwest in 2026, Cox will likely remain a pressing concern for your home. If you’re shopping for Cox internet or TV coverage, how do you know you’re still getting a good deal? As part of CableTV.com’s annual Customer Satisfaction Survey series, we interviewed hundreds of real Cox internet and TV customers nationwide to see what they think about their service costs. Cox offers a deep selection of eight TV and internet plans that cover a variety of channels and download speeds. However, you’d be hard-pressed to describe any of them as cheap.

On the internet side, Cox’s base pricing is a hair above our $50 threshold for an entry-level 300 Mbps plan. But with promotional 1 Gbps pricing that starts at $100 per month, Cox’s internet pricing is well above competitors like Xfinity and Spectrum. TV Preferred is similarly expensive despite being Cox’s base plan with a full cable TV channel lineup. Comparable packages from competitors generally stay within the $100 monthly price range.

Has Cox increased its internet and TV prices?

Cox’s internet prices have never been cheap, but their pricing has been fairly steady. Cox’s 300 Mbps and 1 Gbps plans have stayed within a $10 range since 2023, though subscribers generally had to stack a non-promotional price hike on top of this base pricing. Every cable TV provider has seen huge price hikes in recent years, though Cox’s rates have become eyewateringly high for most households.

The service is OK. However, Cox frequently raises their price until I complain, and then they seem to be able to find 'a special deal.' That gets old.

-Jan E., Cox customer in Virginia

Despite its high pricing, Cox performed extremely well among TV subscribers in our survey. The provider ranked in our top three for price satisfaction relative to initial expectations and competitor pricing. We’d chalk up part of these results to Cox’s strong reliability and equipment satisfaction scores—customers are willing to excuse premium prices if they feel like they’re getting an equally premium user experience.

Cox’s prices compared to inflation

Cox 300 Mbps plan price Inflation-adjusted cost
2022 $79.99 $92.54
2023 $59.99 $65.22
2024 $59.99 $63.26
2025 $70.00 $71.67

Cox has consistently maintained a relatively stable starting price for internet that has gently drifted downward against inflation. You’ll pay slightly more with Cox than with the competition, but your dollar will still go relatively far.

Cox median-tier TV price Inflation-adjusted cost
2022 $92.00 $106.43
2023 $99.00 $107.63
2024 $115.00 $121.28
2025 $115.00 $117.74

But Cox’s TV pricing has gone in the opposite direction. Cox’s steady price hikes have been reflected in how much their prices have jumped relative to inflation.

One thing we’ll continue to track is whether Cox’s merger with Spectrum affects its TV pricing. While Spectrum-Cox has yet to release detailed plans on its post-acquisition catalog, the joint company is expected to adopt Spectrum’s pricing and branding across Cox’s old footprint.
