Key dates for the 2026 Cardinals season
The MLB schedule is a marathon, with several twists and turns along the way. I analyzed the Cardinals’ schedule to find potentially important stretches for fans to follow.
- Home Opener (March 26): The Cardinals start their season at Busch Stadium against the Tampa Bay Rays.
- NL Central matchups: Games against the Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs will be the most important throughout the season. The back half of May will feature 12 straight games against division opponents.
- MLB All-Star Week (July 11–14): If the Cardinals have a solid first few months of the season, it’s likely you’ll see at least one player represent the team at the All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
- MLB Trade Deadline (Aug. 3): Depending on how the Cardinals look before August, the deadline could be very active for them, or a time when they’re doubling down on their roster for the stretch run.
Best Busch Stadium promotional nights in 2026
I love games at Busch Stadium mainly for Friday Night Live. But there are plenty of other St. Louis Cardinals promotions to look out for in 2026.
Throughout the season, the team has a Postgame Concert Series. Bargie Game Day on June 25 sounds amazing. And, St. Louis Blues Night is on September 18. To top off the season’s highlights, you can celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2006 championship on September 11, when the first 15,000 fans take home a commemorative shirt.
