But never fear! I dug into Paramount+’s fine print and deal offerings to find the best ways to save on the CBS-adjacent streaming service. Here’s what you need to know if you’re a college student who wants to get a Paramount+ discount.

What is the Paramount+ student discount?
Paramount+ is already reasonably affordable for a streaming service, and its student discount deal tacks on additional savings for customers. The Paramount+ student discount knocks 25% off the ad-supported Essential plan, dropping the monthly price from $7.99 to $5.99 per month.
As with competitors like Max, Paramount+ typically restricts the student discount to its entry-level plan, and you won’t be able to apply it to the streaming service’s Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan. (I hope you’re not left in the cold if you want to catch up on Yellowjackets or watch live games on CBS.)
That said, Paramount+ has an extended four-year student discount period that’ll apply even if you graduate within that span. Even better, you won’t have to reapply to keep your discount active, as it’ll run throughout your entire time in school.
How to get Paramount+’s student discount
You’ll have to jump through a few minor hurdles to get Paramount+’s student discount. The discount can’t be applied to existing Paramount+ subscriptions, so you’ll need to be a new subscriber or cancel your current subscription and reapply for the student discount. The discount also only applies to college students, so high schoolers or middle schoolers will need to stay on a family plan.
Thankfully, Paramount+’s student discount tool takes care of most of the work for you, and it’s open to nearly every major U.S. university and community college. Here’s what you’ll do to get Paramount+’s student discount.
1. Head to Paramount+’s student discount enrollment page.
2. Fill out the enrollment form.
Paramount+ uses SheerID, a third-party verification service, to verify whether or not you’re an active college student. Typically, Paramount+ will be able to validate your enrollment status with your name, date of birth, and college. (You can use your non-school email during the enrollment process.)
But in some cases, you’ll need to upload a document like a current school ID or transcript to confirm your student status. According to Paramount+, SheerID manually reviews these documents and typically responds within 30 minutes.
3. Proceed to the payment page and finish signing up for Paramount+. You’re done, congrats!
