Shopping for internet and TV service usually means sorting through endless pages to figure things like contracts and download speed. But what if you’re just looking for an easy way to call your grandkids and watch Yellowstone?
Unfortunately, Spectrum doesn’t have senior discounts for TV and internet service. Its only discounted internet plan is Spectrum Internet Assist, and customers have to be enrolled in the Supplemental Security Income program to qualify for it.
But Spectrum’s TV and internet packages still cover a lot of ground for seniors interested in stress-free service. Here’s what you’ll need to know if you’re interested in Spectrum packages for seniors.
Spectrum Internet Assist is Spectrum’s only senior discount program for internet service. On the plan, you’ll get a download speed of 100 Mbps for $30 per month. To qualify for Spectrum Internet Assist, someone in your home must be in the Supplemental Security Income or National School Lunch programs.
Spectrum Internet Assist might be a poor fit for most customers because of its enrollment rule and low speeds. If your household has more than a few internet users, you’ll quickly hit the plan’s ceiling and have slower internet performance. But if you qualify for the plan and need affordable internet service, it’s hard to beat Spectrum Internet Assist’s low price.

We’d recommend Spectrum Internet if you’re a senior looking at Spectrum’s standard internet plans. Although it’s not the cheapest internet plan around—providers like Xfinity and Verizon have plans that cost less than $50.00 monthly—you’ll still have enough internet performance for Netflix nights or a family Zoom call.
Although Spectrum doesn’t have senior discounts for cable TV, its main plan and add-on packs offer enough channels for seniors, families, and grandkids alike.

For most seniors, we’d recommend Spectrum TV Select because of its low price and great channels. Spectrum TV Select has a mix of broadcast and cable networks like ABC, ESPN, and Food Network and includes a Spectrum cable TV box and remote.

Unfortunately, Spectrum doesn’t offer much when it comes to senior discounts. But if you’re looking for excellent cable TV plans and fast internet plans, you’ll still find a lot to like with Spectrum.
Neither Spectrum nor its parent company Charter Communications have a senior discount for its cable TV plans. But if you qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program, you can get a $30 monthly discount on your internet plan.
Spectrum’s only plan for senior citizens is Spectrum Internet Assist. Customers in the Supplemental Security Income program can get internet with 100 Mbps download speeds for $30 per month.
