T-Mobile Fiber Review: Plans, Speeds, and Prices

Does T-Mobile's growing fiber internet service live up to the hype?

Is T-Mobile Fiber worth it?

These days, it’s not enough for an internet service provider (ISP) to simply be an ISP. If you don’t have side brands like cell phone, home security, or streaming services, you’re liable to be gobbled up by the next-biggest provider in town.

This partially explains why T-Mobile has gotten into the fiber internet game. Launched in mid-2025, T-Mobile Fiber sits alongside 5G Home Internet and cell phone service as a key pillar for the carrier—T-Mobile says they want to reach 15 million homes by 2030.

But is T-Mobile Fiber worth your time if you’re lucky enough to have coverage in your neighborhood? Keep on reading to learn more about T-Mobile Fiber’s plans, service, and real-life reputation from actual customers.

Why you should trust us: Our expert writers and editors spent weeks researching T-Mobile Fiber’s pricing and features. We also surveyed hundreds of T-Mobile customers as part of our annual customer satisfaction survey series to see what real customers had to say about the service.

Finally, we rated T-Mobile Fiber on a five-star scale according to four essential criteria:

  • Bang for your buck: 3.50/5.00
  • Reliability: 3.55/5.00
  • Features: 3.88/5.00
  • Customer satisfaction: 4.50/5.00

Editorial star rating:
3.88/5.00

T-Mobile Fiber offers competitive pricing, plans

T-Mobile keeps things simple with three core plans that offer solid transfer speeds and pricing. Fiber 500 has 500 Mbps download and upload speeds for just over $50/mo., while 1 Gig and 2 Gig won’t break the bank for gigabit internet speeds.

Fiber 500 $55.00/mo. 500Mbps 500Mbps View Plans
Fiber 1 Gig $75.00/mo. 1,000Mbps 1,000Mbps View Plans
Fiber 2 Gig $110.00/mo. 2,000Mbps 2,000Mbps View Plans

Notably, T-Mobile Fiber features extremely competitive pricing and value compared to the competition. For instance, AT&T and Verizon Fios’ $50 starter plans top out at 300 Mbps compared to T-Mobile’s 500 Mbps plan. Similarly, Fiber 1 Gig is $5 to $10 cheaper per month than both providers.

On top of that, T-Mobile also offers its Five-Year Price Guarantee on fiber internet. This means you won’t have to worry about annual or staggered internet price increases like you’d find on traditional cable ISPs. We’re huge fans of ISPs that use straightforward billing—T-Mobile 5G Home Internet offers the same feature—and this further positions T-Mobile Fiber as a customer-friendly internet option.

T-Mobile’s fiber network is a mix of its own buildouts and acquired coverage—it purchased regional fiber ISPs Lumos and Metronet in 2024.

T-Mobile Fiber’s inaugural scores are no slouch (we consider 70% to be a passing score), but they’re generally a step behind top ISPs like AT&T Fiber and Verizon Fios because both providers had approval ratings above 80%. Its average latency is also fine, but well below the 10-millisecond mark compared to providers like Verizon Fios. Metronet and Lumos also outperformed T-Mobile Fiber’s in-house network in both categories—we evaluated all three providers separately in our 2025 survey.

We’ll be interested to see how these trends change in 2026 now that both ISPs are formally under T-Mobile. But regardless of where you live, T-Mobile Fiber offers solid-enough fiber internet service with room for improvement as a young ISP.
