AT&T Pricing: Are You Paying Too Much For Internet?

Find out what real customers think about AT&T's internet prices.

If you’re looking for established home internet service, it’s hard to beat a provider like AT&T. The provider has offered telecom services across the nation since opening its original doors in 1885. AT&T’s network looks far different these days, but it still has a deep catalog of phone and internet offerings.

But where does AT&T’s internet pricing stand against the competition? As part of CableTV.com’s annual Customer Satisfaction Survey series, we interview hundreds of real-life AT&T internet customers across the nation to see what they think about their internet service. On top of that, we track national internet prices each year through our annual internet price tracking database.

AT&T’s internet catalog is headlined by two services: Internet Air and AT&T Fiber. Internet Air is slightly pricier than (but otherwise similar to) T-Mobile and Verizon’s 5G home internet services. You’ll pay a flat rate for solid 5G internet speeds and can stack an additional discount with an AT&T phone plan.

Similarly, AT&T Fiber’s $55.00/mo. starting pricing is a hair above the average $50 starting rate we see for home internet. Still, you won’t have to deal with issues like second-year price hikes and promotional pricing on AT&T, and its fiber network offers great internet performance.

Has AT&T increased its home internet prices?

AT&T is a steady provider, and this carries over to its internet pricing. Outside of a $5 Internet Air price hike in 2025, AT&T’s base fiber and 5G pricing have remained unchanged for years. As our past reporting highlighted, internet value generally increases over time as prices either stay flat or decline over time.

2023 2024 2025 2026
AT&T Internet 300 $55.00 $55.00 $55.00 $55.00
AT&T Internet 1 Gig $65.00 $65.00 $65.00 $65.00
AT&T Internet Air $55.00 $55.00 $60.00 $60.00

What do customers think of AT&T’s internet prices?

As part of our annual Internet Customer Satisfaction Survey series, we talk to hundreds of AT&T home internet customers to understand how they feel about their service.

At first glance, AT&T’s survey scores don’t look super impressive. But after breaking out its scores by sub-service, we can make a few bigger takeaways. AT&T likely can’t wait until its DSL customers are on Internet Air, as DSL customers were around 10% less satisfied with their service. And on the brighter side, AT&T’s fiber and 5G customers are pretty satisfied with their internet bills.

AT&T Fiber hit right around the 80% approval mark in our customer price satisfaction polling. It’s not the cheapest fiber internet around, but with straightforward pricing and solid reliability, customers feel that it’s close to a set-it-and-forget-it internet provider.

Internet Air lacks the advertising blitz of competitors like Verizon, but it also handily beat Verizon 5G Home Internet in price satisfaction. As with AT&T Fiber, Internet Air offers flat-rate pricing and cell phone discounts—both factors make bill management even easier for consumers.

AT&T Fiber: flat pricing offers value

AT&T Internet 300 Inflation-adjusted cost
2022 $55.00 $63.63
2023 $55.00 $59.79
2024 $55.00 $58.00
2025 $55.00 $56.31

AT&T’s flat fiber pricing makes its trend line against inflation straightforward—your dollar carries fairly well over time with AT&T internet. That said, this doesn’t mean that AT&T’s internet prices are frozen in amber.

2021 was the last year we logged an AT&T internet price increase, and it was a fairly substantial hike: Internet 300 only cost $35 monthly while 1 Gig was a paltry $60 monthly, and both plans increased by $20 per month. That said, both plans are within the going rates for an average 300 Mbps or 1 Gbps internet plan these days. We’ll consider it a plus if AT&T can maintain similar rates for another five-year window.
