The word “Halloween” makes me drool, anticipating tasty treats and freaky flicks. As an adult with dental bills, dietary restrictions, and a societal expectation that I won’t trick-or-treat, I care more about the movies. I get to rescreen old favorites, experience new horror hotness, and watch my family and friends cower on the couch. So the concept of “31 Days of Halloween,” where you watch a creepshow a day throughout October, really appeals to me.

I know it’s not just me. Many of you, not just avid horror fans, get into the spooky cinema spirit at Halloween. But the nightmare of choice paralysis can waste a lot of your time as you decide what to watch in October. Knowing in advance what’s available to watch, and on which streaming services, helps. That’s a lot of research, though. Who has that kinda time? I do.
I spent most of September tracking the horror offerings of Hulu, HBO Max, Netflix, Paramount+, Peacock, Prime Video, Screambox, Shudder (and, by association, AMC+), and Tubi. Once I knew what’d be on each service in October, I compiled lists with a movie recommendation (or two) for all 31 days. You’ll find everything from certified horror classics to more contemporary creepshows, including the aforementioned horrific new hotness.
That’s 280+ recs across nine different streaming services you might already have—or are considering adding to your streaming stable. To that end, on each of the pages linked below, you’ll not only find a month’s worth of recommendations, but also tips about each streaming service’s horror offerings—how many horror titles it has, which franchises are exclusive to the service, and more.
