What Is the Cheapest AT&T Package?

We’ve researched the best AT&T TV and internet packages that have the smallest price tags.

Thanks to AT&T’s mandatory price hike after the first year, AT&T’s TV and internet packages aren’t the most affordable for long-term customers. But if you need AT&T and have to stay within a budget, here’s what you’ll need to know about the cheapest AT&T internet and TV packages.

Cheapest AT&T TV package: ENTERTAINMENT

Price Channels
$59.99/mo. 65+ View plan

Data effective as of 2/25/2021. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

AT&T’s entry-level live TV package offers regional sports games and popular channels like Comedy Central and TV Land. You’ll also get AT&T TV features like cloud DVR access and the AT&T voice remote. Check out our breakdown of AT&T’s TV channel lineup to see what channels are on each package for the streaming service.

But basic cable networks like Cooking Channel and Nick Jr., along with a promo for a free year of HBO Max, are available only on AT&T’s pricier TV packages. AT&T also raises every package’s price after one year. Even though ENTERTAINMENT is AT&T’s entry-level TV offering, your bill will still jump from $59.99 to $93.00 per month.

Cheapest AT&T internet package: AT&T Internet 100

AT&T Internet 100
Price Maximum download speed
$35/mo. 100 Mbps View plan

Data effective as of 2/25/2021. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

AT&T Internet 100 gets you a maximum download speed of 100 Mbps, which’ll handle regular web browsing and video streaming for a small to mid-sized family.

If you want to save money by cord-cutting and avoid AT&T’s TV price hikes, you could pair AT&T Internet 100 with a streaming service like Netflix or Sling TV to stay up to date on your favorite TV shows.

Depending on AT&T’s local availability, you might be able upgrade to AT&T Internet 1000, which offers maximum download speeds of 940 Mbps for only $60 per month during the first year. AT&T Internet 1000 might not be the cheapest plan, but it’s among the cheaper fiber internet plans we’ve seen.

AT&T Internet’s mandatory equipment fee will add an extra $10 per month to your bill. And after 12 months, your monthly price for AT&T Internet 100 will also increase from $35 to $55.

Although we’re still not fans of AT&T Internet 100’s scheduled price hike, $55 per month for 100 Mbps download speeds is still a pretty decent deal.

Cheapest DIRECTV bundle: DIRECTV ENTERTAINMENT + AT&T Internet 100

Price Maximum download speed Channels
$99.99/mo. 100 Mbps 160+ View plan

Data effective as of 2/25/2021. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

If you want to get live TV along with AT&T internet service, DIRECTV’s ENTERTAINMENT bundle offers nearly three times as many channels versus AT&T TV for an extra $5.

You’ll get basic cable channels like Big Ten Network and Disney XD with DIRECTV, and you can add premium channels like NFL Sunday Ticket during the checkout process. After one year, your bill will increase from $99.99 to $157.00 per month.

Final take

AT&T’s packages aren’t the cheapest because its mandatory price increases after one year will limit how much you’ll save over time.

But if you’re planning to stay with AT&T for a while, the DIRECTV ENTERTAINMENT bundle or AT&T Internet 100 offer the best value. With DIRECTV, you’ll get a larger channel lineup, while AT&T Internet 100 gets you enough internet speed to handle regular web browsing and streaming services like YouTube TV.
