What Is the Cheapest AT&T Package?

We’ve researched the best AT&T internet packages that have the smallest price tags.

Looking for AT&T TV?

AT&T TV is now DIRECTV STREAM. The name is the only real change, aside from the fact that AT&T sold DIRECTV and got out of the TV business. Check out our DIRECTV STREAM review or our Editor’s Choice Awards for Best TV Providers and Best Live TV Streaming Services to learn more.

AT&T’s TV and internet packages aren’t the most affordable. But if you need AT&T and have to stay within a budget, here’s what you’ll need to know about the cheapest AT&T internet and TV packages.

Cheapest AT&T TV package: ENTERTAINMENT

Package
ENTERTAINMENT
Price Channels
$69.99/mo. 65+ View plan

Data as of post date. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

AT&T’s entry-level live TV package offers regional sports games and popular channels like Comedy Central and TV Land. You’ll also get AT&T TV features like cloud DVR access and the AT&T voice remote. Check out our breakdown of AT&T’s TV channel lineup to see what channels are on each package for the streaming service.

But basic cable networks like Cooking Channel and Nick Jr., along with a promo for a free year of HBO Max, are available only on AT&T’s pricier TV packages (CHOICE and above).

And, in what we’ll call good news—for now—AT&T is ditching contracts and, along with them, its notorious second-year price hikes. The fine print, however, does say that AT&T can raise prices whenever it wants. So we won’t get too excited until we see how often AT&T decides to give itself a raise. But at least we know that when they do, it won’t be so hard to leave.

Cheapest AT&T internet package: AT&T Internet 100

Package
AT&T Internet 300
Price Maximum download speed
$35/mo. 300 Mbps View plan

Data effective as of post date. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

AT&T Internet 300 gets you a maximum download speed of 300 Mbps, which’ll handle regular web browsing, online gaming, and video streaming for a small to mid-sized family.

If you want to save money by cord-cutting and avoid AT&T’s TV price hikes, you could pair AT&T Internet 300 with a streaming service like Netflix or Sling TV to stay up to date on your favorite TV shows.

Depending on AT&T’s local availability, you might be able upgrade to AT&T Internet 1000, which offers maximum download speeds of 940 Mbps for only $60 per month during the first year. AT&T Internet 1000 might not be the cheapest plan, but it’s among the cheaper fiber internet plans we’ve seen.

AT&T Internet’s mandatory equipment fee will add an extra $10 per month to your bill.

Although we’re still not fans of AT&T Internet 300’s mystery price hikes, $35 per month for 300 Mbps download speeds is still a pretty decent deal.

Cheapest DIRECTV bundle: DIRECTV ENTERTAINMENT + AT&T Internet 100

Package
DIRECTV ENTERTAINMENT All-Included Package + AT&T Internet 300
Price Maximum download speed Channels
$99.99/mo. 300 Mbps 160+ View plan

Data as of post date. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

If you want to get live TV along with AT&T internet service, DIRECTV’s ENTERTAINMENT All-Included Package + AT&T Internet 300 bundle ($99.99 a month) offers 300 Mbps plus nearly three times as many channels as AT&T TV’s ENTERTAINMENT plan has for an extra $20 a month.

You’ll get basic cable channels like Big Ten Network and Disney XD with DIRECTV, and you can add premium channels like NFL SUNDAY TICKET during the checkout process. But if you have a little more room in your budget—like $5.00 a month—you can jump up to DIRECTV CHOICETM All-Included Package + AT&T Internet ($104.99 a month, 185+ channels) and get the current season of NFL SUNDAY TICKET free, along with a free year of HBO Max, and three free months of CINEMAX®, SHOWTIME®, and STARZ®. Just don’t forget to cancel the premium promos before they auto-renew, or your bill will get pretty bloated.

Final take

AT&T’s packages aren’t the cheapest because its mandatory price increases after one year will limit how much you’ll save over time.

But if you’re planning to stay with AT&T for a while, the DIRECTV ENTERTAINMENT bundle or AT&T Internet 300 offer the best value. With DIRECTV, you’ll get a larger channel lineup, while AT&T Internet 300 gets you enough internet speed to handle regular web browsing, online gaming, and HD video streaming for a mid-sized family.
