DISH Pricing: Are You Paying Too Much?

Here's what you need to know about price increases if you're a longtime DISH customer.

DISH’s last price increase was in late 2025

DISH’s most recent price hike was in September 2025, when it raised prices by $5.00 per plan.

I will say, DISH isn’t an anomaly with its annual price hikes—fellow satellite (and streaming) giant DIRECTV had two price increases last year. And don’t get me started on all the streaming service price increases we’ve seen over the past year.

Still, DISH’s prices are on the higher side for TV services. As part of our annual TV Customer Satisfaction Survey, we asked hundreds of real customers across the nation what they think about their DISH bills and whether they believe the service justifies the high cost.

Keep reading to find out if you’re paying too much for DISH TV, and whether it’s finally time to cut the cord—or not.

With pricy plans and middling channel counts, we’re not big fans of DISH over here at CableTV.com. In years past, we named it our overall Best TV Provider, but no more—price hikes, satisfaction issues, and increased competition ceased its winning streak a few years back (check out our 2026 TV provider rankings guide to see what service is on top now).

DISH is, in our opinion, the inferior satellite TV provider when compared to its rival, DIRECTV. Additionally, DISH has really missed the mark on the streaming side of things. Although they do own Sling TV, it’s an unimpressive live TV streaming service that customers really dislike.

On the other hand, DIRECTV has consolidated its satellite and streaming plans under a single DIRECTV name, streamlining its offerings and improving customer experience and satisfaction year over year. DISH is just too far behind in the streaming world to catch up, IMO, especially with satellite TV’s continual decline becoming increasingly noticeable.

Has DISH increased its prices?

DISH’s prices have increased over the years—but not wildly. I was honestly quite impressed when I uncovered this pricing data, given that DISH’s plans had only gone up by $10 since 2023.

Yeah, $10 is still $10, and no increase at all would be ideal, but we have to take small victories where we can get ’em. (Even the superior DIRECTV has had higher increases across most of its plans.)

DISH price increases

Package 2023 2024 2025 2026
America's Top 120 $79.99/mo. $84.99/mo. $86.99/mo. $89.99/mo.
America's Top 120+ N/A $99.99/mo. $101.99/mo. $99.99/mo.
America's Top 200 $99.99/mo. $104.99/mo. $106.99/mo. $109.99/mo.
America's Top 250 $109.99/mo. $114.99/mo. $116.99/mo. $119.99/mo.

If you’re confused why the price difference from 2025 to 2026 isn’t exactly $5.00 like the price increase I mentioned in the intro, let me explain—DISH is a culprit of what I’ve deemed “price fluctuations,” where they’re prone to tweaking prices up and down at a whim during the year. That, combined with promo pricing, sometimes makes these price changes hard to track. But rest assured, their prices did increase by $5.00 back in September 2025—just take it from them.

What do real customers think of DISH’s prices?

As part of our annual TV customer satisfaction survey, we interviewed hundreds of DISH customers to understand their feelings about their service.

DISH is usually an average performer in past customer surveys, but this year its approval ratings tanked, far below those of competitor DIRECTV.

Question Rating
Given the quality of DISH's service, how would you rate the price you pay for them? 52% approval
Given your initial expectations, how would you rate the price that you pay for DISH's service? 54% approval
Given competitors' prices, how would you rate the price that you pay for DISH's service? 50% approval

Price is way too high. They promise you a certain price, but then they raise it, [and] in a small town like my town, you don't have much of a choice.

-Karan E., DISH customer in Texas

DISH’s pricing scores are quite honestly dismal. DISH came in last place in each of the above pricing questions, even below the perennial loser, Optimum.

Pricing satisfaction scores pretty consistently run lower than scores in other areas of our surveys, but with 70% approval considered a passing mark in our polling, DISH fell way, way flat.

With high prices and middling channel counts, DISH is just no longer a TV competitor in the way it once was. Its wide availability is the main thing keeping it going, since satellite service is often the only choice in rural areas (see quote above).

DISH’s prices consistently beat inflation

While internet plan pricing has generally trended downward over the past decade, TV prices have pretty consistently veered upward. DISH is no exception.

Year DISH America's Top 200 plan pricing Inflation-adjusted cost
2023 $99.99 $109.22
2024 $104.99 $111.24
2025 $106.99 $110.06
2026 $109.99 N/A

However, when we look at the numbers, DISH’s price hikes are actually more conservative than you might expect. Since 2023, the monthly cost of America’s top 200 plan has only increased by $10.00. In fact, based on our research, DISH’s inflation-adjusted costs have consistently been below the expected market value over the last few years.

In recent research, we’ve seen rival DIRECTV also beat inflation by as much as eight dollars. But while DIRECTV’s streaming prices have recently jumped well above inflation-adjusted expectations, DISH has managed to keep its satellite price increases relatively tethered to reality.

It’s a small win for consumers, but in an industry where prices usually just keep skyrocketing, we’ll take what we can get.
