Finding the best internet, TV, and mobile deals can be super overwhelming. Trust me, I know: Half of my job is hunting down the best deals, combing through disclaimers for expiration dates, and sifting through other fine print to uncover the details of the best current promos for all the top telco and streaming services.
That’s why I’ve started this weekly column to keep readers up-to-date with the best deals that providers are currently running. This page is updated weekly with a fresh batch of deals released over the past week, so be sure to bookmark it for future reference.

Internet providers are enticing new customers with free cash this fall💰🤑
It’s not uncommon for providers to sweeten the pot for new customers with some limited-time promos. I mean, that’s basically what this whole column is about.
But what I really appreciate is when providers just straight up give out free cash. Sure, discounts on services and price guarantees are great, but nothing beats the satisfaction of signing up for a service and getting sent real money (in the form of a gift card, that is).
I usually find one or two providers who are running these gift card promos, but this month, there are quite a few. Better yet, most are available to any new customers—although there is one super sweet student-specific deal I’ll talk about. Keep reading for all the details.
How to claim your free gift cards this October
Let me get this out of the way first: All of these deals are for new customers only. To get these free reward cards, you’ll need to either switch providers, upgrade your plan, or sign up for a new service altogether. The Ts and Cs will vary for each deal.
So, if you’re already in the market for a new internet (or TV) provider, great! There are quite a few to choose from that are handing out reward cards for signing up.
IMO, the best deal right now is DIRECTV’s switcher deal, where you can get up to a $200 Visa Reward Card when you switch to DIRECTV. (Did you know that I named DIRECTV the best TV provider for promos this year? This promo is one reason why.)
T-Mobile’s also offering an equally great deal for new 5G Home Internet customers, offering up $200 in gift cards when you switch. AT&T’s offering a little less money (up to $150) for signing up, but their fiber internet plans are top-notch, so it’s still a win-win.
Optimum’s slinging a bit less (up to $100) for new internet subscribers, but apparently, new customers should be wary. When searching up info on this deal, I came across a Reddit thread full of agitated Optimum customers who haven’t received their gift cards. Here’s what one user had to say about their experience:
“I signed up in July 2023 and was told I will receive a $100 gift card after 3 months. In October they told me my card was shipped out and it will take 2-3 weeks. It is now at the end of December and I still haven’t received it… I called Optimum and chatted via their online support and was told to contact 877-425-8423 which is the company that sends out the gift cards. Guess what? They do not answer and have not returned my voicemails…. lol Optimum is a scam for this… Highly disappointed.”
Students, want free Uber Eats and Amazon this semester?
Xfinity, our perennial fave provider for student discounts, is offering up a great one for college students for a limited time.
Students who sign up for 1 Gig Xfinity Internet from now until October 21 can get a $200 gift card from Uber Eats or Amazon.
I was in college not all that long ago, and I know that $200 goes a long way for a broke college student. I also know that students are prone to procrastination—keep putting off that essay, sure, but don’t miss out on this deal.
Some things never change…
While some providers tend to switch out deals on the reg, others like to keep things more stable (which I appreciate, seeing as I personally update all 20+ of our deals pages each month😅).
