CableTV.com’s Internet, TV, and Mobile Deals of the Week (October 20–October 26): Get A Free Nintendo Switch!

Free Nintendo Switch offer with Verizon

Finding the best internet, TV, and mobile deals can be super overwhelming. Trust me, I know: Half of my job is hunting down the best deals, combing through disclaimers for expiration dates, and sifting through other fine print to uncover the details of the best current promos for all the top telco and streaming services.

That’s why I’ve started this weekly column to keep readers up-to-date with the best deals that providers are currently running. This page is updated weekly with a fresh batch of deals released over the past week, so be sure to bookmark it for future reference.

✦ Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Logan Jones, and I’ve been CableTV.com’s resident deals expert for close to three years. As part of the editorial staff, it’s my job to keep readers updated with all the latest internet, TV, and mobile promotions. I update all 20+ of our deals pages at the beginning of each month, and keep an eye out for new promos as they drop.

Verizon can hook you up with a free Nintendo Switch 🎮

Who doesn’t love free stuff? Especially really real, really free stuff? C’mon—no one!

Verizon clearly knows that (and has the money to spend) as they are the provider that most often hands out free consumer electronics—think TVs, gaming systems, etc.—with its internet, TV, and mobile plans.

So if you’ve been eyeing the Nintendo Switch, now’s a great time to snag it for free by signing up for a new Verizon internet plan. I mean, cozying up on the couch playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the peak autumn activity IMO.

Keep reading to find out which plans are eligible for this deal, plus some alternatives Verizon’s offering up if Switches aren’t your thing.

How to claim your free Nintendo Switch before November 5

FYI, not every Verizon internet plan is eligible for the free Nintendo Switch. If you’re looking for a lower-tier plan (think 300 or 500 Mbps), you’ll still get excellent service with Verizon, but you won’t get any free goodies.

To get a Switch with Verizon Fios fiber internet, you’ll need to sign up for the Fios 1 Gig or Fios 2 Gig plans. Don’t live in a Verizon fiber area? Not to worry, as Verizon is also giving it away with its lower-speed but more widely available 5G Home Ultimate and LTE Home Plus plans.

The Switch promo has some flexibility, too. You can opt for either a new Nintendo Switch system or a Switch gaming accessory bundle (2 controllers + $100 Nintendo Switch gift card), which’ll be perfect if you want to trick out the Switch setup you already own.

Not a gamer? No problem. Verizon is offering one more option outside of the Switch and Switch accessory bundle. You can also choose to get the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select (With Ads) bundle free for 12 months.

One word of warning: Don’t choose this last option if you happen to have a Spectrum TV plan. Spectrum’s recent addition of Hulu to its long list of included streaming services makes the Disney bundle a moot point for Spectrum TV customers.

Pro tip: Wish there were more free consumer electronics deals being offered RN? Yeah, me too. Most providers are holding back their best deals for Black Friday and the upcoming holiday season.

I get exclusive access to some upcoming deals, and although I can’t say specifically what’ll be offered, I can guarantee that there will be some slick free electronics (think smart TVs, more gaming systems, speakers, and sound bars) available in the coming months. Just keep an eye on this column for the deets.

Some things never change…

While some providers tend to switch out deals on the reg, others like to keep things more stable (which I appreciate, seeing as I personally update all 20+ of our deals pages each month😅).

Here are some of the best perpetual deals from top TV and internet providers:

  • Amazon Prime Video: 30-day free trial
  • DIRECTV: HBO Max, Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, MGM+, CINEMAX, STARZ included for 3 mos.
  • DISH: Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, STARZ, and DISH Movie Pack included for 3 mos.
  • Hulu: 30-day free trial
  • Verizon: Up to $200 in gift cards with Verizon’s Fios TV plans
  • Xfinity: Get an Unlimited line included for a year with a 300 Mbps or faster Xfinity Internet plan
