Best Cable Bundle: Spectrum Internet Premier + TV Select Signature
Pros: Affordable pricing; Bundle discounts; Included streaming services
Cons: No budget internet plans; Price increase after 2 yrs.
Even though our website is called CableTV.com, we love all kinds of TV over here. In fact, we think that live TV streaming is inching out cable for the best TV service out there.
Still, I don’t often recommend streaming TV for seniors. A classic cable box is the way to go, keeping the TV experience familiar without throwing in a streaming service that, let’s face it, can require some frequent troubleshooting.
That’s why I think the best TV and internet bundle for seniors is Spectrum’s Internet Premier + TV Select Signature bundle. With speedy 500 Mbps internet, Spectrum Internet Premier will support an entire household’s internet use easily. I do wish Spectrum offered a lower starting internet speed—they used to have a 300 Mbps plan, which would’ve been my recommendation if they didn’t get rid of it—but it’s hard to complain about having faster internet.
Are you a senior living alone or in a small household who is also eligible for SSI (or another governmental assistance program)? If so, I’d recommend replacing Spectrum Internet Premier with Spectrum Internet Advantage, which provides up to 100 Mbps internet speeds for $30 per month. Find more details on our Spectrum Internet for Seniors guide.
Spectrum’s TV plans also come with free subscriptions to a ton of streaming services (think Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount+, Peacock, and AMC+), which’ll be perfect to help entertain the grandkids when they visit.

“It's reliable, it never slows down, and the price is competitive. The bundle deals are good too.”
Best Bundle Discount: Xfinity Connect More + Popular TV
Pros: $20 bundle discount; 5-yr. price guarantee for internet
Cons: Smaller channel counts; No budget internet plan
Another great TV and internet bundle for seniors comes from Xfinity, with its Connect More + Popular TV plans.
Our internet expert Eric Chiu recommends the Connect More internet plan for seniors, saying, “I think Connect More is an excellent fit for seniors because it’s Xfinity’s entry-level internet plan and offers fast speeds for your family and the grandkids.” Like with Spectrum, I do wish Xfinity had a cheaper base internet plan, but we’ll take what we can get.
Popular TV pairs nicely with a solid 125+ TV channels. (Psst—we have the Xfinity Popular TV channel lineup for you to peruse and see if it meets your TV channel needs.)
The best part? Xfinity offers a $20 monthly bundle discount for TV and internet bundles. And, for a limited time, they’re offering a 5-year price guarantee on internet. Not too shabby.

Best Streaming Bundle: Frontier Fiber 200 + YouTube TV
Pros: Bundle discount; Fast, reliable fiber internet
Cons: Pricy TV plan; Bundle discount ends after 12 mos.
I know that in the Spectrum section above I said that sticking to traditional cable TV is the way to go for most seniors. And that’s true for older folks who are used to the classic format of cable TV.
But for those willing to take the risk and cut the cord, I think the best way to do it is to switch to YouTube TV. If you’ve ever watched the cute cat videos on YouTube that your grandkids have sent you, that’s even better! YouTube TV’s design is close to that of classic YouTube and is pretty easy to navigate.
Paired with reliable Frontier fiber internet, you can say goodbye to having to call your kids to figure out why Facebook isn’t loading. Frontier Fiber 200 will be enough for multiple people to stream YouTube TV and surf the internet at the same time, with no one waiting around for their favorite TV programs to load. Our internet expert Eric concurs with me in his Frontier seniors guide.
I chose Frontier internet + YouTube TV as a top TV and internet bundle for seniors because Frontier offers a $10 monthly discount on YouTube TV for your first year of service. Even after YouTube TV reverts back to its original price of $82.99/mo. after one year, it’s still a solid deal (and my colleague Randy’s pick for the best live TV streaming service out there).

“They provide the best service in live TV and streaming older shows. They have a wide variety of channels available. They have the best rate.”
Best Rural Bundle: CenturyLink Simply Unlimited Internet + DISH America’s Top 120
Pros: Affordable DSL internet; Wide availability
Cons: Inconsistent internet speeds; Separate billing
If you live in a rural area and your internet options are limited, you’re not out of luck. There are still some top-notch TV and internet bundles for seniors available for folks living out in the country. One of our favorite rural internet options is CenturyLink’s Simply Unlimited Internet. I like this choice for its relatively low monthly price and its wide availability, plus no contracts or scheduled price increases.
Just pay attention to the “up to” in the internet speed listing above—depending on your location, your speeds could be close to the max of 140 or much, much lower. That’s just the price of rural livin’.
DISH is a great TV service for rural folks, since its satellite service is available basically everywhere in the country as long as you’ve got a clear view of the sky to set up your antenna.
Another reason why I like DISH so much is that it offers some senior discounts, unlike its rival DIRECTV. With DISH 55, customers aged 55 and older can get free in-home visits from DISH technicians, one free movie rental monthly, plus worry-free equipment protection.
If you’re still not sure if DISH is the right fit to pair with CenturyLink internet, CenturyLink has a TV recommendation tool built into its website, which allows you to answer some questions about your TV habits in order to get a recommendation of the best TV provider for you.
Honorable mentions: Other top TV and internet bundles
Editor’s Choice Bundle: Verizon Fios 300 Mbps + More Fios TV
Price: $168.99/mo. | Internet speeds: 300 Mbps | Live channels: 300+
Pros: Reliable fiber internet; Tons of channels; No scheduled price increases
Cons: Limited availability; Pricy plans
We love Verizon Fios over here on CableTV.com. It swept my 2025 TV Customer Satisfaction Survey, while my fellow writer Eric Chiu named it the best internet provider for both reliability and 5G home internet.
So it’s not surprising that I’m choosing it for the Editor’s Choice Bundle. This would be the bundle that I would pick for myself (and my grandma!) if we lived in Verizon’s service area. Verizon’s ultra-reliable fiber internet service would make buffering a thing of the past, while More Fios TV offers up a whopping 300+ channels, including MeTV, HGTV, and ESPN.
No, it’s not the cheapest, but it really is the best of the best—if your wallet allows it.
Runner-up Streaming Bundle: WOW! + YouTube TV
Price: $102.99/mo. for 12 mos. | Internet speeds: 300 Mbps | Live channels: 100+
Pros: Bundle discount; Affordable fiber internet plans
Cons: Limited availability; Bundle discount ends after 12 mos.
Yes, this streaming bundle does look eerily similar to the Frontier internet + YouTube TV bundle I raved about above. In fact, this bundle is slightly better, as for the same price, WOW! offers 100 Mbps more internet speeds than Frontier.
I chose Frontier as our top pick, though, thanks to its wider availability than WOW!, which is available in just 6 states. But if you can get WOW! in your area, I would recommend you make the switch. At just over $100 for your first year for speedy internet and the best live TV streaming service currently available, this bundle is truly top-notch.
