Peacock isn’t a channel like NBC.
If you’re trying to figure out which channel number Peacock is, you might be disappointed. While channels like NBC and CBS have designated channel numbers, Peacock is a streaming service. So you won’t use your remote’s number pad to find it.
… But that doesn’t mean you can’t watch Peacock on your Xfinity device. In fact, Xfinity works really well with Peacock and bundles it into many of its products. If you have Xfinity Sports & News TV or NOW TV, a Peacock subscription is included with your service. And even if you don’t subscribe to Peacock through Xfinity, you’ll still be able to log in to your Peacock account on Xfinity devices.
With each of Xfinity’s products, you should be able to navigate to Peacock like you would any other streaming app. But if you’re having trouble, don’t fret! Let’s go over the process for each one.
Peacock on the X1
The Xfinity X1 is a popular DVR cable box, and there are two quick ways to open Peacock on your X1:
- Use the microphone button on your remote and say “Peacock.”
- Press the Xfinity button on your remote, and then use the right arrow to navigate to the Peacock app.
Both of these methods also work with the Xfinity Flex, which is no longer available to Xfinity customers and has been replaced by the Xumo Stream Box.
Peacock on the Xumo Stream Box
The Xumo Stream Box works like any other streaming stick or smart TV, but it requires Xfinity internet. Like the X1, there are two ways to open Peacock with Xumo:
- Use the microphone button on your remote and say “Peacock.”
- Go to your Home screen and press the “down” section of your remote’s directional pad. This should open the Apps row. If Peacock isn’t immediately visible, click on “View All” and scroll until you see Peacock.
How to activate Peacock with Xfinity
You don’t have to get Peacock through Xfinity in order to use its app. But certain Xfinity products and services come with Peacock, so make sure you’re not paying for it twice.
If you’re subscribed to Xfinity Sports & News TV or get Peacock for free through another promotional offer, you can activate your Peacock subscription online. Sign in to Xfinity’s subscriptions portal with your Xfinity ID to access the Xfinity StreamStore. There, you should be able to activate your Peacock Premium subscription. You can also use the StreamStore to upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus for an additional fee if you’d like to get rid of ads.
