Xfinity’s Choice TV plan has only local channels, so we’ve excluded it from this breakdown. (We’ve also omitted channels like TBS and TNT that show sports games alongside regular programming, but they’re available on every Xfinity plan.)

Xfinity has a few necessary sports packages

Xfinity offers only a few add-ons for sports-watchers, but no other company beats its $10 package for 40+ channels (some of which are entertainment channels).

The More Sports & Entertainment channel pack gives you secondary cable channels, including CBS Sports Network, NFL RedZone, and NBA TV. It’s honestly worth the $10 just for NFL RedZone during the NFL season if you’re also a fan of watching the best plays on Sundays in real-time.

During checkout, you can add an NBA League Pass and NHL Center Ice subscription to your Xfinity cable plan. You’ll want to subscribe to those if you don’t live in the area of your team.

Premium channels on Xfinity

You can add premium cable channels like SHOWTIME® and STARZ® to your channel plan during checkout. While they come with an additional à la carte monthly fee, they’ll make it easy to watch event matches from sports like Bellator MMA.

What is a regional sports fee?

On Ultimate TV and Popular TV, you’ll have to pay an additional fee for RSNs, typically around $15 per month. TV providers typically pass these fees onto consumers; unfortunately, there’s no way to bypass them.

Xfinity offers Spanish-language sports channels

Xfinity keeps Spanish-speaking families in mind with a sports package that features three of the best sports channels for watching fútbol, fútbol americano, beisbol, y más.

Is Xfinity worth it for sports fans?

Xfinity offers solid channel coverage for sports fans who want to watch live games. While Xfinity’s RSN coverage in the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West region has some gaps, its Bally Sports and NBC Sports coverage is otherwise excellent.
